Our Housewarming Party

The planning wasn’t easy but we pulled it off! We actually moved in to our apartment 6 months ago! We knew we wanted to do a nice housewarming party to welcome our family & friends to our first apartment together but didn’t know exactly when! I don’t consider myself a perfectionist but I do like things to look well put together. That means decor and what I call “homeyness”. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you need to rush to have a housewarming! You might end up looking like Kenya from Real Housewives of Atalanta (ok, you don’t watch that show? Yeah me either lol)

The most detail oriented part of prepping for the party was creating a menu that I was happy with. Our party started at 2pm, which is right around brunch time, but I knew some people would come later and that would be dinner time. So I came up with a menu that was blended and it was absolutely perfect (if I do say so myself). The menu included homemade everything, from pumpkin waffles to buttermilk biscuits, slow cooker turkey chili, jerk wings, roasted bacon, spinach and mushroom quiche and basil infused ziti. Sounds like a lot? Well, it was all gone by the end of the night!!

Nate & I were so happy to have friends and family celebrate our apartment with us that we can’t wait to do it again! I’m thinking ugly sweater party next for the holidays! Sounds fun right?

Let me know what you do to prep for a party at your home below!
